Yeah... meet up with some cool guys while waiting for the show, and follow them into the pit... make sure one of those guys is about 6'6" and 250 Lbs... so that when he wanders out to get a drink and makes it back, he has one for you to. Hey, this is some REAL good stuff, Scott (but I hope my husband does not mind not hearing any of it. <wink>)
Also, get to know the venue BEFORE the show... we lucked out at the GR show and, instead of standing in line outside in February for 6 hours to get front row, we parked in the raised garage and took the catwalk... sat inside with about 30 other people, and were in the pit before the main doors even got opened. Done.
If some chick starts screeching in your ear, inform her that if she doesn't stop doing that, she might be leaving the show minus her tonsils, as you'll personally be ripping them out. Someone is going to be informing ME of this, I have a feeling........
Camera = bad idea. If you MUST attempt to smuggle in a camera, take a toss-away one, and be ready to have it get snatched by either the bouncers, or the crowd crushing it. Go to the bathroom BEFORE entering the pit. Once you're there, do not give up your spot for anything... and be ready for a sudden forward surge when the band starts (especially when Scott walks in your area). You'll end up about 15 feet closer to the stage instantly, and if you're already on the rail, get a good grip and be ready to push back. If the bouncer asks if you're okay, say yes. If you're dying, still say yes... they haul you out if you say no, and you loose your spot. Don't expect to talk to the band... or give them anything... oh... but 12 Stones will be gathering at the Merch Booth about 15 minutes after their performance. Listen to them... they'll say where it will be. Anything else?
